Graduate School

Thesis and Dissertation Information

The Graduate School must receive three copies of the dissertation or thesis (four copies for joint programs) from the student by the specified deadline (see Dissertation and Thesis Guidelines).

* For Thesis/Dissertation signature pages: The correct name and title for the graduate dean is:

    Robert S. Sikes
    Associate Professor of Biology

Doctoral students may be hooded by their dissertation directors at the Spring and Fall commencement ceremonies if they have fulfilled all requirements of the university and have been cleared by the Graduate School. Graduate degrees will not be posted to transcripts, nor diplomas distributed, until final copies of theses and dissertations are approved by the Graduate School, arrangements are made for binding (see Dissertation and Thesis Guidelines for options), and copies are uploaded to ProQuest.

The Graduate School approves the inclusion of names of potential doctoral graduates in consultation with program coordinators based upon graduation applications filed for that term.

Master’s and Educational Specialists students who are writing theses are required to follow the same schedule. Students must fulfill all requirements of the university and be cleared by the Graduate School. Degrees will not be posted to transcripts, nor diplomas distributed, until students have completed all requirements.
